Software Used: Unity - Maya - Zbrush - Substance Painter / Designer - Photoshop
Michael Wolf, a programmer for MobilityWare, contacted me to see if I would be interested in volunteering to create artwork for a game project he was developing. Intrigued with the idea and wanting to hone my 3D art skills, I volunteer my free time to model and texture props for the game WaxHeart.

Skills Used During the Project: Maya/3dsMax - Unreal Engine - PBR Workflow - Zbrush - Substance Painter - Photoshop/Illustrator
While at Visual Concepts, I worked under the World Art and Character Art teams to help develop assets for the AAA game Lego 2K Drive. My primary duties included prop and texture work, 3D modeling, and optimizing hundreds of assets for in-game and cinematic use. Each piece must match its real-world Lego counterpart, be UV'd and aligned with proper decals when applicable, assign vert color, and be skinned to the in-game skeleton. These are just a handful of the dozens of accessories I created for Lego 2K Drive, including much of the main cast of NPCs.

Skills Used During the Project: Photoshop/Illustrator - Unity
While at 2Axion, I worked as the Start-Ups Game Designer, Producer, and Artist. I created documentation along with 2D artwork for new and existing games. Along with artistic duties, I recruited their current development team that are still there today. I made around a dozen new planets based on player feedback to earn and buy for Nemexia Online. I also created advertisements and game event banners for the website by kit-bashing older assets to create a fresh look on the game. I also helped design and develop new title ideas along with UI assets to be used in Unity. Bellow are a few examples of said assets.

the iconic house on redwood hillLaguna College of Art and Design MFA Thesis Project |
|
The Iconic House on Redwood Hill was designed as part of my research requirement at Laguna College of Art and Design during the MFA Game Design Program. My research consisted of how and why the Queer experience has been portrayed in digital games. In my paper, "The Evolution of Queer Narratives and the Queer Experience in Digital Games," I discuss how digital games have been the vessel for some of the most creative and impactful narratives in modern media history. However, there have been few safe spaces in digital games for players to explore LGBTQ narratives and the queer experience. The development of The Iconic House on Redwood Hill is an attempt to provide a safe space for queer players and a chance for non-queer players to learn about LGBTQ stories.
Aside from writing and researching my paper, I took charge of the project's production and development. I was the lighting artist for the project, along with the project lead, designer, and producer. I created modular walls for the interiors level as well. I oversaw and recruited student artists of all disciplines and programmers and organized them for production. Below is a link to the game, free to download.
